Deputy Manager Job Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate professional to fill the role of Deputy Manager in a new residential service. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, supportive, and child-centred care for young people in need of protection and guidance.
The Deputy Manager will play a key leadership role in establishing and running the new service, working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. They will also be responsible for leading, supervising, and supporting a team of residential care staff to promote best practice in all aspects of care.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A relevant qualification in Social Care, Youth Work, or a related discipline (minimum Level 7)
* Minimum of 3 years' experience working in residential childcare or with vulnerable young people
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Understanding of HIQA regulations, child protection, and safeguarding procedures
* Experience supporting children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds is highly desirable
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills

About the Role:
1. Establish and run the new residential service, working closely with the Registered Manager
2. Lead, supervise, and support a team of residential care staff
3. Ensure the emotional, social, and educational needs of each child are met in line with their individual care plans
4. Promote a safe, nurturing, and culturally sensitive environment in compliance with HIQA standards and child protection policies
5. Contribute to the ongoing development of the service and staff through training, reflection, and professional growth
