Lead Governance, Information Access and Communication Specialist
This role plays a crucial part in ensuring MARA operates with the highest standards of integrity and accountability. As Lead Governance, Information Access and Communication Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating all liaison activity between MARA and its parent Department.
Governance Responsibilities
* Develop and implement governance strategies that align with the highest governance standards.
* Monitor MARA's compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Information Management
* Manage the processing of departmental queries, ensuring quality control and recording of official responses.
* Oversee compliance with corporate legislation including Freedom of Information (FOI), Access to Information on the Environment (AIE), Data Protection, Procurement and other Corporate Legislation.
Communication and Representation
* Represent MARA at national and international forums on relevant issues.
* Prepare and provide written and verbal briefings, presenting information in a clear, concise and effective manner.
Team Leadership
* Manage the team assigned within the internal unit, ensuring goals are met, leave is managed, and training opportunities are identified.
* Provide mentoring and professional development opportunities for staff.
The successful candidate will ensure effective implementation of access to information regulations and policies, balancing transparency with confidentiality and data protection obligations.
