About The Role
Purpose of Position:
The Contracts Manager leads multiple projects and teams to deliver safe, high-quality, and commercially successful infrastructure that enhances communities through engineering excellence.
They take ownership of contract strategy, stakeholder alignment, and risk management, ensuring projects are delivered ethically, efficiently, and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities
Contracts Strategy & Compliance:
Plan, manage, and deliver all contracts in line with company strategy, vision, and values.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and HSQE standards across all projects.
Document all changes to specifications, work scope, and drawings, and ensure proper notifications and approvals are completed.
Negotiate high-value supplier and sub-contractor contracts to achieve commercial efficiency.
Oversee tendering activities in collaboration with the tendering and pre-qualification department.
Stakeholder Alignment:
Maintain strong communication with clients and their representatives (engineers, surveyors etc.), including attending meetings to report on progress and resolve issues.
Act as the primary interface between site teams, clients, and internal departments to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support business development and future opportunities.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary site teams with clarity and consistency, setting clear expectations around performance, safety, quality and accountability.
Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all sites.
Conduct regular performance conversations, identify development needs, and contribute to succession planning within the sector.
Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and implementing improvement measures.
Excellence in Engineering & Project Delivery
Promote high standards of quality and delivery across all project phases, from mobilisation to handover.
Encourage detailed early project planning and integration across departments to support effective delivery.
Contribute to innovation and technical excellence by sharing lessons learned and identifying smarter ways of working.
Support Coffey’s Engineering Solutions approach by integrating and collaborating across Preconstruction, Engineering, Commercial and HSQE functions to deliver joined-up project outcomes
Commercial Performance & Risk Management:
Monitor project budgets, forecasts, resource requirements, and construction productivity.
Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure proactive resolution of issues.
Provide recommendations for operational improvements and efficient work methods.
Track delegated financial authorities and ensure adherence to company procedures.
Identify business opportunities and communicate proactively within the organisation.

About You
Requirements:
Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience supporting competency in the role.
Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) and membership in a relevant professional institution.
Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in construction contracts and project management.
Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary site teams across multiple projects.
Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and risk management expertise.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
Commitment to safety, quality, and ethical standards.
Full clean Irish/EU/UK driver licence
Authorised to work in Ireland i.e. stamp 4 or critical skills visa
