Safety Professional – Waterford

We're seeking a skilled Safety Professional to join an upcoming project in Waterford.

This individual will work closely with the project/site management team and business leaders to ensure that all construction activities are carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead by example and provide sound industry-leading advice to project stakeholders.
* Investigate accidents/incidents on site and lead the investigation in the absence of the Project Director or HSE Manager.
* Liaise with enforcement authorities following an incident.
* Assist the HSE Manager in preparing Health and Safety reports for business leaders.
* Alert the HSE Manager if there is inadequate cover for Health and Safety.
* Support tender and prequalification teams advising on Health and Safety concerns and providing practical solutions.
* Deliver training programs to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
* Stay up-to-date with legislative changes and best practices to provide competent Health and Safety advice to site stakeholders.
* Awareness of own limitations and ensuring advice remains within those limitations.

You Will Have

1. Tech IOSH certification.
2. At least 3 years' experience as a Health and Safety professional.
3. NEBSOH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
4. NVQ Level 4 / EFQ L3 in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent.
5. Temporary Works expertise.
6. Internal Auditor qualification.
7. Local PD / CDM & PSDP / PSCS training.
8. Awareness of lifting operations BS 7121/IS361.
9. Temp Works Awareness including knowledge of TWC role.
10. Incident Investigation Training.

Requirements

* IOSH Tech certification.
* At least 3 years' experience in Health and Safety.

* NVQ Level 4 / EFQ L3 in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent.
* Temporary Works knowledge.
* Internal Auditor skill set.
* CDM & PSDP / PSCS training.
* Lifting operations awareness BS 7121/IS361.
* Temporary Works Awareness incl. TWC role knowledge.
* Incident Investigation skills.

About This Role

This Safety Professional will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and visitors on site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating incidents, leading investigations, and providing advice to project stakeholders.

They will also be expected to stay up-to-date with legislative changes and best practices to ensure the provision of competent Health and Safety advice.

Your Profile

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

* Technical IOSH certification.
* Significant experience as a Health and Safety professional.
* Strong knowledge of NEBSOH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 4 / EFQ L3 in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent.
* Temporary Works expertise.
* Internal Auditor qualification.
* CDM & PSDP / PSCS training.
* Lifting operations awareness BS 7121/IS361.
* Temporary Works Awareness incl. TWC role knowledge.
* Incident Investigation skills.
