TITLE OF VACANCY:
Event Executive, Abbey Events - Dublin (Hybrid)
THE ROLE:
This position is to support our Events Team with a key focus on a large-scale sporting event held every August.
CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:
Responsibilities can include the following with potential of a more specialist role being assigned for larger events:
* Managing hotel inventory, ensuring all hotels are updated regularly and in timely manner and good relationships are maintained
* Overseeing attrition and deposits for hotels, communicating deadlines in timely
* manner to client and suppliers and therefore managing financial risk for the Company
* Contracting, negotiating and booking of services required within required
* timeframes and budgets thus ensuring an efficient and profitable service
* Managing and maintaining supplier relationships
* Monitoring & addressing any Quality Control issues with suppliers
* Managing and maintaining client relationships
* Ensure our inhouse system is kept up to date
* Deal with supplier invoices and financial sign off of event(s)
* Close communications and cooperation with the other members of the Events Team
* Attend weekly team meetings to give regular update
* Onsite Preparations and onsite support as required during event(s)
* Assisting with business development research or business development activities for the Events team where time allows or appropriate
* Assisting the Abbey Group with its environmental and responsible tourism initiatives
* Any other duties or supporting tasks as assigned from time to time by your Manager
* Depending on role - Some international travel may be required and will be in compliance with the Company's Business Travel Policy.
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
* Relevant 3rd level degree in Event Management, Tourism, Business or Languages or relevant experience
* Very good knowledge of MS Office
* Good knowledge of the Irish tourism industry products
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent administration skills, negotiation and communication skills
* Team player able to work in a busy environment and meet deadlines
* Fluency in English (spoken & written)
Desirable:
* Knowledge of the system Tourplan a distinct advantage
* Contracting experience beneficial
