Job Opportunity: Experienced Calf Rearer and Dairy Farm Worker (Part-time Spring ****)
An established dairy farm is seeking a reliable and dedicated Calf Rearer and Dairy Farm Worker to join their team.
This role is perfect for someone with an interest in calf rearing and dairy farm work, with flexibility in working hours and days.
Key Responsibilities:
Calf Rearing
Feeding and caring for calves, ensuring they are healthy and well-nourished
Assisting with the management of calf pens and bedding
Monitoring the health of the calves and reporting any issues
Administering basic treatments (e.g., vaccinations) when required
Weaning calves and preparing them for integration into the wider herd
Dairy Farm Work:
Feeding the dairy herd and ensuring access to clean water
Cleaning and maintaining the milking parlour and other farm facilities
Assisting with herd health management, including monitoring for signs of illness and liaising with the farm owner & vet
Operating machinery
Helping with general farm maintenance, including fence repairs, pasture management, and equipment upkeep
Additional Tasks:
General farm support, including assisting with any day-to-day tasks required on the farm
Helping with machinery operation – machinery experience is beneficial but not essential
Requirements:
Previous experience in dairy farming or calf rearing is essential
Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A passion for animal welfare and a keen interest in calf rearing
Machinery operation experience is essential
Good communication skills and attention to detail
