Job Title: Theatre Nurse Role
Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Nurse to join our team in the theatre department of UPMC Whitfield Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with nursing colleagues to develop innovative practice, and assisting in a wide range of specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring the delivery of the highest possible standard of care to all patients.
* Act as preceptor to pre-registration students, mentor new clinical staff, and support and guide all colleagues when needed.
* Liaise with link lecturers from affiliated nurse education departments to develop and maintain UPMC Whitfield Hospital as a recognised learning environment for student nurses.
* Develop and maintain effective communication and interpersonal relationships with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a good team spirit and collaborative working practices.
* Support the clinical nurse manager by meeting agreed responsibilities as set out by the Assistant Director of Nursing or the Director of Nursing at any time.
* Identify and discuss nursing/patient needs with consultants/nursing team, multidisciplinary team, patients, and carers.
Requirements:
* Be a Registered Nurse in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Hold a Theatre Qualification (desirable).
* Demonstrate evidence of Theatre Nursing experience.
* Have knowledge of the relevant disciplines in the Hospital pertaining to Infection Control, Quality and Risk Management, Health & Safety.
