We are seeking a highly-motivated Staff Nurse (RNID/RCN/RGN) to join our team in Children’s Respite, Lavanagh House, Curraheen, Cork.
Contract type: Permanent.
Contract hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week.
Salary Scale: Staff Nurse €37,060–€54,111 pro rata per annum. (Salary scales are subject to LSI’s long service increments.)
Enhanced Nurse €43,206–€56,956 pro rata per annum. (Salary scales are subject to LSI’s long service increments.)
Annual Leave Entitlement: 33/34/36 days pro rata (depending on experience).

To work as part of a dedicated and innovative team in a 3‑bed community based house providing respite and holiday breaks for children with disabilities, within a quality framework; to provide nursing care to meet the assessed needs of children, young people and their families.

The successful candidate will have:
Eligible applicants are those who on the closing date for the competition:
Be registered in the Intellectual Disability/Children’s Nurse/General Nurse Division of the live Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais (NMBI).
Be eligible to work in Ireland.
Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of clinical and administrative capacity) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
Annual registration: maintain live annual registration on the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Experience of working with children with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, ASD, and behaviours of concern.
Enhanced Nurse Essential Criteria
Have a nursing qualification validated for working in the Republic of Ireland.
Registered as a Nurse/Midwife on the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Have 1 year 16 weeks of relevant nursing work experience after graduating.
Maintain registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland for the duration of employment and provide evidence of registration/renewal annually.
Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Possess documented competencies including care competencies in relation to service user/owner caseload.
Evidence of skill acquisition from on the job learning.
Certified skills training – including mandatory training relevant to care required for service user/owner caseload.
Evidence of participation in audit and evaluation of care provision including collection of quality care metrics where applicable.
Possess a full clean manual driving licence.
Be eligible to work in the State.
