Job Title: Trading Manager
The trading team plays a crucial role in maximising commercial return for the organisation's portfolio of generating assets through trading in wholesale and balancing markets.
Key responsibilities include managing and leading the growth of the trading team, trading the organisation's portfolio of generation assets in appropriate markets, integrating new assets into the portfolio, preparing the organisation for emerging market trends, and providing market insights.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Identify pathways and trading strategies to maximise return for the organisation's assets in the Single Electricity Market.
* Minimise impact of balancing costs for assets, minimise forecasting errors and actively trade assets in available markets.
* Review and improve commercial return for the organisation from energy, capacity market and ancillary service markets and other forms of revenue.
* Provide leadership on behalf of the organisation on market and industry associations.
The successful candidate must stay ahead of energy trends, advise senior management on opportunities to help maximise commercial returns, and have a strong understanding of thermal, renewables, and battery storage assets in the SEM.
