My client, a private social care provider supporting individuals and families in Galway who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, is currently seeking a Project Worker. The successful candidate will offer practical assistance and support to service users engaged with the organisation - helping them to find and secure suitable accommodation and, where appropriate, assisting them in addressing their health and care needs.
Key Duties:
1. Help clients find and move into housing, including long-term homes, and support them in settling into their communities.
2. Support clients in accessing local services like healthcare, welfare, training, education, and jobs.
3. Give clients practical help and general support.
4. Help clients connect with housing, health, welfare, education, training, and leisure services to become part of the community.
5. Build trust with clients and manage problems calmly and fairly, following the organisation's policies.
6. Manage difficult situations sensitively and according to the organisation's rules.
7. Work in line with the National Quality Standards Framework (NQSF) for homeless services.
8. Always follow the Child Protection Policy and the Children First Guidelines.
Essential Criteria:
9. At least two years' experience collaborating with vulnerable communities.
10. A recognised third-level qualification (minimum level 8) in social care or a related field, or CORU-registered social care worker.
11. Full clean driver's license and access to own car.
12. Understanding of homelessness and the complex needs of homeless families.
