We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Engineer to join our Maintenance team in Cork. This is a full‑time permanent position reporting to the Primary & Facilities Maintenance Manager. This position will be responsible for the smooth running of our state‑of‑the‑art facilities, covering refrigeration, boiler, steam and energy. You will work cross‑functionally across different departments and contractors as well as optimise preventative maintenance schedules.
Key Responsibilities
To ensure supervision and safe operating procedures for visiting contractors
Respond promptly to facilities‑related breakdowns to minimise production disruption
Assist with basic projects such as equipment replacements, upgrades, or energy‑saving initiatives
Ensure all compliance service and inspection schedules are completed and actions followed up on
Implement and drive continuous improvement projects (self‑driven)
Work closely with Operations to improve the site assets and the refrigeration performance, availability, and efficiency
Assist the Engineering Department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts
Optimise the CMMS (Piranha) system regarding asset identification and traceability
Assist in emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient way on all site facilities equipment and assist across all site engineering issues when required
Assist in the installation of new equipment to the site if required
Requirements
Electrical/Mechanical qualification, HNC or time spent in a multi‑skilled apprenticeship
Services background/facilities experience ideally within food manufacturing or high‑volume manufacturing environment
CI experience and use of Lean Manufacturing techniques
Significant troubleshooting and fault‑finding diagnostics and resolution experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate team skills with a positive attitude and professional approach
