Role Overview
The Financial and Treasury Accountant is responsible for providing high quality financial information to support management decisions and reporting by accurately analyzing financial information to prepare journal entries and completing thorough account reconciliations for Leasing.
The Financial and Treasury Accountant will assist with resolution of any inconsistent and inaccurate information in the general ledger as well as contributing to effective cash management and treasury operations.
Responsibilities
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare general ledger entries on behalf of Leasing
Perform statistical analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to general ledger accounts
Identify and resolve inconsistent or inaccurate financial information in preparation of schedules, account reconciliations and reports
Perform daily cash management activities, collateral management and administration of funding facilities
Perform monthly cash and intercompany reconciliation and settlements
Facilitate movement of collateral in and out of Secured Funding facilities to fully leverage receivables and conversely support syndications
Prepare and send notices to Secured Funding Stakeholders when collateral is contributed or released
Support migration of servicer reports and supporting data to automated tools
Manage daily banking transactions across multiple bank accounts
Perform bank reconciliations and analyze variances against cash forecasts
Administer and oversee the company's Corporate Card program
Other duties as assigned, including special projects
Key Interactions
Analysis to support global management of Element finance by the Shared Services, FP&A, Treasury and Accounting function
Data to inform decisions made by the IRE Executive Team
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
Actively pursuing, or intending to pursue, a recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA)
Minimum 2 years of accounting or Treasury experience.
Prior experience in Leasing, ABS environment and/or Banking a strong plus
Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation processes
Knowledge of cash management and treasury principles
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Strong proficiency in Excel.
Accounting and reporting systems.
Alteryx proficiency a plus
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Attention to details to ensure information presented is free of errors/misstatements
Experience in SAP or similar ERP systems considered an asset
