We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Kildare.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance to a high standard.
Assess vehicles daily, investigating issues reported by drivers and resolving both routine and non-routine defects in line with manufacturer specifications.
Attend local breakdowns, identifying faults and restoring vehicles or equipment to service quickly.
Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including inspection and service documentation.
Ensure the workshop and depot areas remain clean, safe, and well organised.
Identify, report, and help resolve safety hazards proactively
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations in accordance with company and statutory requirements (e.g., RSA).
Contribute to the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) processes.
Work closely with the transport department, providing updates to ensure fleet availability for scheduled operations.
Offer guidance and technical support to colleagues, including apprentices and junior technicians.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar mechanical or heavy-vehicle maintenance environment.
National Craft Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (SOLAS), Advanced Craft Certificate (FETAC Level 6), or an equivalent qualification.
Full Irish Category B driving licence (required).
Category C or CE licence is an advantage.
Flexible, adaptable, and willing to participate in on-call rotation and urgent repair coverage.
Must have the legal right to work in Ireland.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
