Regulatory Risk Manager

The role of Regulatory Risk Manager is pivotal in ensuring the organization's regulatory compliance and risk management framework. This position plays a key part in identifying, assessing, controlling, and monitoring risks to ensure they are within the appetite of the business, clients, and regulators.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in senior risk management roles, ideally within a financial services platform or IT environment. They will possess relevant qualifications such as CISA, IIA, PMI, Agile, PRINCE, etc., and demonstrate a proven ability to implement and embed risk frameworks, challenge senior stakeholders, and drive change initiatives.
This individual will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework to align with the business plan and regulatory environment. They will provide oversight of the application of risk management policies and procedures, work with the business to facilitate understanding and embedding of these within the organization, and design and deliver an effective risk assurance program.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Providing support and challenge to key business stakeholders in implementing the risk management framework;
* Driving the implementation and embedding of a risk and control self-assessment process;
* Designing and delivering an effective risk assurance program;
* Representing the risk function at governance committees and forums;
* Ensuring significant risk events are escalated to senior management and providing oversight and direction of remediation and root cause analysis from a 2nd line perspective.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of risk management industry best practices, excellent communication, relationship management, and influencing skills, as well as excellent presentation skills and training/coaching experience.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* 10 years' experience in a senior risk management role;
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CISA, IIA, PMI, Agile, PRINCE);
* Proven ability to implement/embed risk frameworks and challenge senior stakeholders;
* Knowledge/experience of IT Project Delivery, IT development lifecycles using Agile Project Methodology;
* Knowledge/experience of ITIL Framework;
* Knowledge/experience of Regulatory (CBI/EBA) requirements in respect of IT & Cyber, Cloud, Data Privacy, Operational Resilience;
* Working knowledge of operational processes of MiFID firms;
* Excellent understanding of risk management industry best practice;
* Excellent communication, relationship management, and influencing skills;
* Excellent presentation skills and training/coaching experience.
