About the Role
As a General Service Recruit in the Naval Service, you will be part of a professional and dynamic team that patrols and protects Ireland's territorial waters. Your role will form the backbone of the Naval Service, starting with a 12-week training course focused on physical fitness, discipline, and basic military and naval skills.
Upon completion, you will advance to Ordinary Rate and begin branch-specific training in one of four areas: Seaman's, Communications, Mechanicians, or Supplies. Once qualified, you'll be promoted to Able Rate and assigned to a Naval Service ship, where you'll take part in a two-year sea rotation.
The duties include general maintenance, boat operations, firefighting, damage control, and participating in naval boarding teams during drug interdiction operations. Further training opportunities are available for those who wish to specialise and advance their careers within the Naval Service.

* Education: No formal education qualifications required
* Age: 18-39 years
* Other Requirements:
o Must be an Irish or EU citizen
o Must be of good character and pass security clearance
o Must meet minimum standards of medical and physical fitness
Salary & Benefits
You will receive a basic salary of €41,435 with annual increments (after training) and additional allowances for overseas service starting at €15,000.
