The Role: Sous Chef
At Monroe's, we are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our existing team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing menus.
* Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
* Maintain food quality, presentation, and consistency according to standards.
* Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
* Step into the Head Chef's role when required, managing all kitchen operations.
* Contribute to menu development, including seasonal and special offerings.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrate flair, creativity, and skill in the kitchen.
* Experience in working in a high volume busy environment.
* Must be able to work well on your own initiative and to work in a team environment.
* Excellent knowledge of HACCP.
