Group Senior Packaging Technologist Longford | Adhoc European Travel An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced packaging professional to join an international food manufacturing business in a group-level role.This position will play a critical role in shaping packaging innovation, sustainability strategy, supplier performance, and technical excellence across multiple manufacturing sites. Key Responsibilities: Leading high-value, complex packaging development projects across multiple sites Managing packaging specifications, validation protocols, and technical approvals Driving packaging innovation, cost optimisation, and sustainability initiatives Supporting supplier selection, technical reviews, and continuous improvement programmes Conducting packaging trials from planning through execution and evaluation Identifying packaging risks and implementing mitigation strategies early in the project lifecycle Collaborating with QA teams on shelf-life validation and packaging compliance Supporting packaging-related investigations, audits, and non-conformance reviews Monitoring packaging legislation and regulatory developments across European markets Managing relationships with external laboratories, suppliers, and technical partners Supporting analytical testing programmes and packaging performance evaluations Requirements: A degree in Packaging Technology, Food Science, Materials Science, or a related discipline 5+ years experience in packaging development within FMCG or food manufacturing Proven experience leading cross-functional and multi-site projects Strong knowledge of packaging materials, validation, testing, and supplier management Demonstrated success delivering sustainability and cost-saving initiatives Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills Strong analytical and problem-solving capability High level of competency across Microsoft Office and technical reporting tools Flexibility to travel across Europe as required
