AA Euro Group is currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Site Manager to join a leading renewables contractor on a major renewable energy project based in South Cork. This is a permanent position with an estimated 24 months of work on the initial project and further projects in the pipeline across the region.
The Role:
As Electrical Site Manager, you will lead the on-site electrical delivery of a utility-scale renewables project, including substations, grid connections, and associated infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe, timely, and compliant execution of all electrical works on-site. You will liaise with internal teams, external contractors, and the client to ensure smooth coordination and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the on-site lead for all electrical works and installations
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of subcontractors and site teams
* Ensure that all electrical works comply with project designs, technical specifications, and safety regulations
* Coordinate with design teams to clarify technical issues and drive design solutions on-site
* Monitor construction progress, manage schedules, and report site performance
* Review and approve construction work packs and ensure readiness for execution
* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively
* Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all site activities
* Support commissioning activities and ensure readiness for energisation
* Liaise closely with project management, client representatives, and grid authorities
* Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to site-based electrical personnel
Requirements:
* Degree or Trade Qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
* Minimum 8 years experience in site-based electrical management, preferably on utility or renewables projects
* Proven track record delivering substation or high-voltage electrical works
* Strong knowledge of ESB/EirGrid specifications and standards is highly desirable
* Strong understanding of project delivery, construction sequencing, and safety management
* Ability to lead teams, coordinate across disciplines, and manage contractors
* Proficiency in tools such as MS Office; experience with AutoCAD or similar is a bonus
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
* Strong commercial and risk awareness
* Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
