Job Title: Orthopaedic Nurse
Located in Cork, this full-time position involves supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care within our General Orthopaedic clinics. This role plays a key part in ensuring that specialist orthopaedic nursing knowledge and skills are applied to enhance patient outcomes and support the overall service. As a senior clinical professional and role model, you will promote best practice, contribute to continuous improvement, and support colleagues within a multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and identifying orthopaedic/surgical candidates for pre-admission and post-discharge, supporting safe discharge planning and referral processes. They will also act as a key resource for orthopaedic patients attending other departments or external services, deliver patient education in both clinical and outpatient settings, and support the development and maintenance of accurate records for arthroplasty cases in line with national standards.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Current NMBI registration.
* Higher Diploma in Orthopaedic Nursing (desirable).
* Minimum 5 years' post-registration experience in orthopaedics.
* Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently with strong initiative and self-motivation.
