Job Title:
Financial Controller
Overview:
This is a key leadership role, responsible for the overall financial management and direction of our company. The Financial Controller will be instrumental in shaping the future success of our business by providing expert financial guidance and support to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee all aspects of financial management, including producing monthly accounts, managing cash flow, and improving systems.
• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring seamless operations and timely delivery of financial reports.
• Provide meaningful financial insight and analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making, helping to drive business growth and profitability.
• Supervise and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Liaise with external accountants/auditors during the year-end process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Review and improve financial systems, processes, and internal controls, maintaining a robust and efficient finance function.
Requirements:
• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a similar hands-on finance role, ideally within an SME or manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with attention to detail, practical experience in management accounts, cash management, and payroll.
• Proficiency with accounting software and good Excel skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, reliable, and down-to-earth approach, with a commercial awareness and interest in the operational side of the business.
