About This Role
We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team in North Cork, working with adults in a well-established Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit.
The successful candidate will be working alongside a diverse multidisciplinary team, providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention to individuals presenting with complex mental health difficulties.
Job Objectives
* To provide high-quality occupational therapy services to individuals on the caseload, including assessment, evidenced-based intervention, and evaluation of treatment programmes.
* To work collaboratively with members of the clinical team to meet the person-centred needs of individuals on the caseload.
* To develop and facilitate individual and group therapy programmes based on the identified occupational performance difficulties of individuals.
* To promote recovery-oriented occupational therapy practice in interactions with individuals, staff, and other key stakeholders.
* To participate in promoting compliance with the Judgement Support Framework and contribute to individual care planning, risk assessment, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Management of a caseload, carrying out assessment, evidenced-based intervention and evaluation of treatment programmes for individuals presenting with complex mental health difficulties residing in an approved centre.
2. Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention is to be provided with consideration for self-care, productive and leisure occupations.
3. Engage in interdisciplinary working with members of the clinical team including but not limited to Consultant Psychiatrists, Behaviour Specialists, Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Social Care Workers and Assistance Support Workers to meet the person-centred needs of individuals on your caseload.
4. Develop and facilitate individual and group therapy programmes within the mental health unit based on the identified occupational performance difficulties of individuals.
5. Promote recovery-oriented occupational therapy practice in your interactions and work with individuals, staff and other key stakeholders.
6. Participate in promoting compliance with the Judgement Support Framework Contribute to individual care planning, risk assessment and risk management.
7. Complete detailed reports for internal/external stakeholders and ensure the quality of documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and reports are in accordance with professional standards.
8. Provide support to key stakeholders for carry over of Occupational Therapy recommendations.
9. Attend and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical department meetings and occupational therapy department meetings.
10. Direct and supervise Occupational Therapy students and Occupational Therapists.
11. Deputise for the Occupational Therapy Manager as required.
12. Attend and work the days and hours which s/he is assigned.
13. Demonstrate professional conduct and behaviour by adhering to legal, ethical and professional practice standards in all aspects of practice.
14. Maintain files and records on service users in accordance with the records policy.
