Job Title: Occupational Health Nurse
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and professional occupational health nurse to join our well-established pre-employment and occupational health service. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical assessments, immunization programs, health surveillance, and evidence-based guidance to support safe recruitment and workforce wellbeing.
This role is ideal for a nurse who is experienced, organized, and confident in autonomous practice within an occupational health or clinical assessment setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Pre-Employment & Clinical Screening: Provide comprehensive pre-employment screening with occupational health needs assessment.
* Fitness for Work Assessments: Assess the fitness of employees returning to work following sickness absence and develop rehabilitation programs to ensure duty of care.
* Health Surveillance: Carry out health surveillance and assessments based on risk assessments and in accordance with current legislation.
* Case Management: Communicate with HR and managers working to support the individual within flexibilities of service.
* Absence Trends: Monitors absence trends and provides reports highlighting opportunities for improvement in attendance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMBI registration.
* Strong clinical decision-making and documentation skills.
* Excellent communication and the ability to work independently.
* Competent with IT systems and digital assessment tools.
* Clean driving license and access to a vehicle.
* Registration with An Bord Altranais/Nursing and Midwifery Board Ireland.
* Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health or equivalent.
* Sound educational background including a good standard of numeracy and written English.
