Job Description
Location: Naas Road, Newlands Cross
The Night Manager will oversee all aspects of the hotel during the night, ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests while maintaining smooth operations. This is a hands‑on, guest‑focused role requiring strong leadership, attention to detail, and a calm approach to problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Service
* Oversee the hotel operation throughout the night, ensuring all departments function efficiently.
* Deliver a warm, professional service to all guests, handling check‑ins, check‑outs, and late arrivals/departures.
* Respond promptly and effectively to guest queries or issues, ensuring resolution before morning handover.
* Conduct property walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness, security, and readiness for the following day.
Team Supervision
* Lead and support the Night Team, including Night Porters and Security where applicable.
* Ensure all night audit and reception duties are completed accurately and on time.
* Provide training, coaching, and ongoing feedback to maintain high service standards.
Security & Health & Safety
* Act as the primary emergency contact for the hotel overnight.
* Ensure adherence to all fire, health, and safety policies and procedures.
* Conduct nightly security checks and record any incidents in the Duty Manager log.
Finance & Reporting
* Complete nightly audits and reconcile daily financial transactions.
* Prepare reports and ensure handover to the morning management team.
* Monitor and control departmental costs in line with budgetary requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience as a Night Manager, Assistant Night Manager, or Duty Manager in a 4-star hotel environment.
* Strong leadership and decision‑making skills with a guest‑first mindset.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of Opera PMS (or similar front office systems) advantageous.
* Ability to manage night operations independently and confidently.
* A strong focus on safety, security, and delivering excellent guest service.
