Excel Recruitment is partnering with the HSE to recruit experienced Clinical Psychologists.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work and contribute to high quality mental health care and play a key role in clinical decision-making and service development.
Job Summary:
The Mental Health Specialist will provide expert assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions for adults with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing clinical leadership, supervision, and contributing to the ongoing development of service provision within their allocated area.
Main Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and risk formulations for adults with complex mental health needs
* Provide individual, group, and family interventions based on evidence-based psychological therapies
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team (psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists) to support patient care and treatment planning
* Contribute to care planning, treatment reviews, and discharge planning for patients
* Offer clinical supervision and guidance to junior psychologists, trainees, and other staff
* Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with HSE policies
* Participate in service development initiatives, audits, and quality improvement projects
* Provide consultation to other healthcare professionals and services
* Engage in continuing professional development and maintain professional registration standards
Requirements:
* Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology and/or Chartered Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist through PSI
* Eligibility for registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland
* Proven experience in adult mental health assessment and psychological interventions
* Experience in working within inpatient or community mental health settings highly desirable
* Strong clinical reasoning, formulation, and risk assessment skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
* Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload
* Full driver's license and access to a car
