Business Development Manager (Bespoke Joinery & Kitchens) Location: Edenderry, Ireland (Head Office + Nationwide travel) Role Type: Full-Time, Senior / Strategic Package: Highly bespoke, performance-driven (vehicle, expenses, bonus, mobile, etc.) Overview A leading Irish company operating in both bespoke joinery & fit-out (retail, hospitality, commercial) and premium kitchens, bedrooms & living interiors is looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager. This role is rare because it spans two highly complementary divisions: high-end joinery solutions and bespoke kitchen manufacturing. You will be tasked with driving new revenue streams, building relationships with architects, design firms, main contractors, developers, and other key stakeholders, and significantly growing the business across both verticals. About the Business The joinery division is one of Irelands top bespoke contract furniture manufacturers, delivering to sectors like retail, hospitality, and commercial projects. The kitchens side is a family-run but technologically advanced business, producing designer kitchens, bedrooms, and living interiors from a state-of-the-art facility in Edenderry, Co. Offaly. The company is deeply invested in quality craftsmanship, using CNC machinery, AutoCAD/Inventor, and operating with a sustainability mindset (e.g., recycling and efficient waste management). Their project portfolio is rich: think high-profile retail fit-outs, luxury hotel joinery, corporate interiors, and country-style premium kitchens. Role & Responsibilities Strategic Sales & New Business Generation Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for both the joinery and kitchen divisions. Identify, target, and win new business opportunities in Ireland (and potentially UK) with architects, interior designers, main contractors, developers, and commercial clients. Build a pipeline of high-value projects: large-scale fit-outs, bespoke kitchens, and contract furniture packages. Account Management & Relationship Building Manage and grow existing relationships with clients, specifiers, and referral partners. Act as the face of the business for design professionals and key accounts: sell the craft, the quality, and the value. Organise and lead client meetings, site visits, and presentations. Provide thought leadership and insights into joinery and kitchen trends. Market Analysis & Trend Intelligence Keep abreast of market developments, design trends, and competitive offerings in joinery and kitchen sectors. Deliver market intelligence to leadership to inform product development, pricing strategy, and differentiators. Proposal & Tender Leadership Lead the development of compelling, technically accurate proposals and tender submissions. Work with the estimating/design teams to align commercial offers with production feasibility, cost, and design vision. Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and terms of delivery. Sales Operations & Reporting Track, report, and analyse sales performance, pipeline, conversion rates, and revenue growth. Provide forecasts, metrics, and insights to senior leadership. Collaborate with marketing to align BD efforts with brand messaging and collateral. Cross-Functional Collaboration Liaise with the production / workshop teams to understand capacity, lead times, and cost constraints. Work with project managers to ensure seamless handover from sales to delivery. Coordinate with design and technical teams to ensure sales proposals are realistic, feasible, and profitable. Brand & Thought Leadership Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and design forums. Build the brands visibility in the Irish market as a high-end joinery + kitchen specialist. Contribute to content development (case studies, white papers, digital content) to support business development. Requirements 812+ years of proven experience in business development / sales within joinery, furniture manufacturing, interior fit-out, or kitchens. Deep understanding of both bespoke joinery and designer kitchens or strong transferable experience. Excellent track record of winning high-value contracts (commercial / residential) via architects, designers, or contractors. Strong network within architecture, construction, interior design, or developer communities in Ireland. Technical literacy: able to understand production constraints, drawing details, fabrication workflows, and manufacturing cost drivers. Outstanding communication, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills. Comfortable working with CAD teams, design leads, production leads, and senior stakeholders. Full driving licence, willingness to travel nationally. Strong business acumen, financially literate, good at modelling deals. Results-driven, self-motivated, but also able to operate as part of a leadership team. Package & Benefits Very competitive base salary + high-potential commission / bonus structure.
