As part of the growing Tendering and Engineering Team at TLI Group, we are recruiting for a Tendering Electrical Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate can be based in one of our multiple offices across the country, with options for hybrid working. Travel to and from site may occasionally be required, but this will be predominantly an office-based position.As Electrical Engineer, you will take on an electrical engineering role on major Power, Renewable & Substation project tenders. You will be responsible for undertaking and managing all electrical engineering requirements and deliverables on substation and renewable project tenders, ensuring that all electrical engineering elements of tender submissions meet the required client/Eirgrid/ESB tender specifications.Main Responsibilities:Function as a Tendering Electrical Engineer within the TLI Tendering TeamDetailed review and familiarisation of all project employers requirements, specifications, and preliminary drawings & calculationsOwnership of all elements of electrical engineering tender requirements as part of the tender submissionRisk identification and mitigationUnderstand the commercial fundamentals of a project and a tender submissionWork closely with the tendering team, operations, engineering and commercial teams to prepare accurate and technically compliant tender submissionsCoordinate the electrical, civil, cable and OHL engineering interfaces during the tender processLiaise with equipment vendors, design consultants and other third parties as part of the tender processReview offers and quotations from equipment suppliers and design consultants to ensure they are technically compliant and commercially competitiveIdentify value engineering opportunities where possibleProvide input into the tender program and engineering budget from an engineering and electrical design point of viewAttend tender and post tender meetingsEnsure compliance with relevant standards and regulationsPromote a safety culture and safe working environmentBusiness Development & client liaison where requiredContribute effectively as part of a multidisciplinary design team taking responsibility for all aspects of tender electrical engineering outputsSupport the operations and project team in terms of handover of a successful tenderKeep up to date on innovative technologies, build techniques and design innovations to drive improvements in cost, quality, and timescalesRole Requirements:Qualifications and experience:Honours Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering3+ years industry experience in substations, high & medium voltage, and renewables projectsKnowledge:Experience of the tendering process and producing technical tender submissionsKnowledge of the substation, utilities, and renewables sectorProficient use and knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, ePlan, MS Office (experience with design studies and cable design software would be an advantage)Familiarity with current ESB/Eirgrid specifications & design requirements would be an advantageSkills:Appreciation of the design / construction interfacing requirementsWell-developed client facing skills with a client orientated approachAbility to work independently & ability to manage a teamExcellent Communication, Interpersonal, Organisational & Planning SkillsAbility to balance competing priorities and meet personal targets while dealing with a dynamic workloadCommitted to TLI Company Mission, Vision and Values and Business ObjectivesSafety firstCustomer focus; Professional; Honesty and IntegrityPositive and flexible approachOpen to innovation and collaborationRight first-time approachProactive with the ability to think aheadSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionUtilities, Civil Engineering, and Facilities Services
