Overview
Radiographer – Sports Surgery Clinic, Dublin.
Location: Sports Surgery Clinic.
Job type: Fixed Term (6 months).
Responsibilities
General Accountability
: Maintain the primacy of the patient in relation to all clinical activities and uphold a high standard of Radiography care; create and promote healthy working relationships; demonstrate behaviour in line with the Clinic values; ensure each patient is treated as an individual with privacy and confidentiality maintained; actively participate in the Clinic's accreditation programme and Continuous Quality Improvement.
Clinical Responsibilities
: Undertake radiographic and imaging examinations as required; maintain a high standard of radiography; ensure Radiation Protection Rules are applied at all times; be familiar with and abide by the Patient's Charter and treat every patient with courtesy, kindness, efficiency and confidentiality; maintain a flexible approach to facilitate urgent and walk-in cases; flexibility in working hours is essential; participate in the out-of-hours rota.
Administrative Responsibilities
: Participate in routine equipment inspection and quality assurance procedures; report defects affecting safety; manage incidents according to Clinic policy and accurately record details; maintain effective communication with other disciplines; attend meetings and sit on committees as required; keep the department and work area clean, tidy and safe; perform duties assigned by the Radiography Services Manager or Clinic Management; promote high staff morale and team spirit; contribute to clinical risk management.
Education and Teaching Responsibilities
: Keep up to date with current radiographic and imaging techniques and ongoing professional development; participate in in-service training; promote good relationships with other clinic staff; assist with induction and guidance of new staff.
Self-Development Responsibilities
: Stay current with developments in radiology; be accountable for service quality including customer service and technical aspects.
Information Technology Responsibilities
: Ensure effective use of technology for patient care and administrative purposes.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must
: Possess the Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Radiography or the Diploma of the College of Radiographers, or a qualification at least equivalent as validated by CORU; be registered with CORU.
Experience
: Have excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication abilities; be computer literate; have the ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage multiple issues with attention to detail; be able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions.
