**Job Description**
Clinical Nurse Manager 2 is required to work in a Breast Check clinic in Dublin. This role will be part of a temporary agency line of work.
This position involves providing optimal healthcare to patients who have or fear they may have breast cancer and their families and friends. The successful candidate will improve the capability of others involved in healthcare to provide care for this group of patients.
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 will also provide a continuing service to patients and their families. They will offer a specialist nursing service for those who have or feel they may have breast cancer and benign breast problems originating from breast cancer screening.
Liaising with a multi-disciplinary team, the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 will evaluate clinical problems in conjunction with other team members. They will co-ordinate investigations and therapies and patient follow-up.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Providing a high standard of nursing care to encompass the holistic needs of patients.
* Liaising with multi-disciplinary teams to provide a service which meets the needs of patients and their families.
* Evaluating clinical problems in conjunction with other team members, co-ordinating investigations and therapies and patient follow-up.
* Actively promoting liaison and co-ordination of care for patients between the screening unit, the hospital, the symptomatic breast clinic and the community.

The person appointed to this post will work within the Integrated Services Directorate; working as part of multi-disciplinary teams delivering a coordinated approach to client care. Functions of the National Screening Service are as follows:
* To carry out or arrange to carry out a national breast screening service for the early diagnosis and primary treatment of breast cancer in women.
* To carry out or arrange to carry out a national cervical cancer screening service for the early diagnosis and primary treatment of cervical cancer in women.
* To advise on the benefits of carrying out other cancer screening programmes where a population health benefit can be demonstrated.
