The Flying Enterprise Complex, one of Cork's best-known hospitality destinations, incorporating a Bar, Restaurant, Courtyard, Deli, and Event Spaces, is now recruiting an experienced and energetic Duty Manager to join our management team.
About the Role
As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the entire complex.
You will support the General Manager and Senior Management Team to ensure exceptional service delivery, smooth operations, strong staff leadership, and a consistent customer experience across all areas.
This is a hands-on role suited to an organised, confident, and customer-focused hospitality professional.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operation of the bar, restaurant, courtyard, deli and event areas
Lead, motivate, and support staff during service
Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve issues promptly
Assist with staff rostering, breaks, labour management and floor cover
Ensure compliance with licensing laws, food safety, health & safety, and company policies
Cash handling, float checks, end-of-day cashing-up and till oversight
Opening and closing duties for the complex
Liaise with the kitchen, bar and floor teams to maintain smooth service flow
Support with stock control, deliveries, waste management and supplier coordination
Assist with event setup, private bookings and functions
Report operational updates, incidents and maintenance issues to senior management
Uphold the brand standards and reputation of The Flying Enterprise Complex
Requirements
2+ years' experience in a supervisory or duty manager role within hospitality
Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment
Excellent customer service ethos with a proactive approach
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Experience with cash handling and opening/closing procedures
Knowledge of H&S, food safety, and licensing requirements (training can be provided)
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
