Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts and Payroll Executive to join the finance team at Select Technology Group. Operating across 50 locations and serving over 10 million customers annually, Select Technology Group delivers a tailored technology experience through a multichannel portfolio that connects leading technology brands with our retail, business, and education partners. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing payroll operations, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting the finance team with reporting and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in payroll systems, VAT compliance, and general accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
* Process company payroll on a weekly and monthly basis in a timely and accurate manner.
* Maintain and update the payroll processing system, ensuring all employee data, earnings, deductions, and tax information are accurate.
* Respond to employee queries regarding wages, deductions, attendance, and timekeeping issues.
* Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll or timesheet records promptly.
* Generate payroll and commission reports, including statutory tax filings, benefit deductions, and other required documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and process supplier payments and employee expense reimbursements in accordance with company policies.
* Prepare accurate and timely management reports to support business decision-making.
* Assist with administrative tasks as needed to maintain up-to-date financial and team records.
* Ensure the accurate preparation and timely submission of VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, and Intrastat Returns, in compliance with relevant regulations.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date ledgers and support financial integrity across all departments.
* Apply accruals and prepayments appropriately to financial transactions to ensure proper period matching and financial accuracy.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in payroll processing and accounts support roles.
* Strong knowledge of payroll software and accounting systems (Business Central, Thesaurus eg)
* Solid understanding of VAT regulations, EC Sales, and Intrastat reporting.
* Attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
* Accounting qualification (or studying towards) such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is a plus.
