Offer description

Technica is a consultancy firm specializing in renewable energy projects, with a focus on photovoltaic (PV), wind energy and BESS. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality services within Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), for our clients in the renewable energy sector. Our commitment to innovation and sustainability drives our success in helping our clients achieve their goals. Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the mechanical construction and quality of utility-scale PV projects on behalf of our clients. The successful candidate has a background in mechanical installation works on construction sites and will be responsible for supervising the daily activities related to installation of structures, modules, cable management supports and associated balance of plant. You will work closely with our clients, project managers, site managers and subcontractors to ensure a robust and high-quality mechanical installation across the entire PV plant. This role combines technical oversight, on-site supervision and quality assurance, ensuring that all mechanical works are executed according to design, standards and best practice, and are ready for successful handover. Key Responsibilities Supervise and monitor all mechanical installation activities on site (piles, foundations, structures, trackers/fixed tilt, PV module installation, cable trays and supports, equipment foundations, access and minor civil interfaces). Ensure that all mechanical works are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant standards, client specifications, local regulations and best practice. Verify that installations are in line with approved specifications, drawings, layout plans and method statements. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on pile and structure installation, tolerances, torque of connections, alignment of structures, module mounting, and general workmanship. Monitor torque of bolted connections and ensure that all critical fixings are torqued, marked and documented according to project requirements. Identify and report non-conformities, punch items and defects, and follow up on corrective actions until closure. Coordinate daily with site management, HSE, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure aligned planning and safe working conditions. Monitor progress of mechanical works against programme, report deviations and contribute to mitigating delays (e.g. work sequencing, resourcing). Ensure that all site documentation related to mechanical work is complete and up to date (inspection records, redlines/as-built, daily site reports). Verify that tools, lifting equipment and installation gear are suitable, certified and used correctly (e.g. torque tools and accessories). Contribute to toolbox talks and safety briefings with focus on mechanical installation hazards (working at height, lifting operations, manual handling). Support the handover process by preparing and reviewing mechanical documentation, as-built records and punch list close-out for client acceptance. Qualifications A relevant mechanical educational background. At least 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Supervisor, Site Foreman or similar role on construction sites, preferably from utility-scale PV, wind, BESS or other energy/infrastructure projects. Solid understanding of mechanical installation practices, including foundations, mounting systems, structural alignment, torque, lifting operations and interfaces with civil and electrical works. Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations for structural steelwork, mounting systems, lifting and site safety. Experience in site-based quality control, inspections and documentation of mechanical installations. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues on site and drive practical, safe solutions together with the project team. Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers and clients in a construction environment. Able to read and work from technical drawings, layout plans and installation manuals. Proficient in using standard IT tools (e.g. email, Excel, report templates, document management systems). Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken. Willingness to travel and work on-site for extended periods (approx. 180 days per year or as required by projects). What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package. Opportunity to work on innovative and impactful renewable energy projects for leading clients. A supportive and collaborative work environment. Professional development and growth opportunities. Application Process Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume and a short cover letter detailing their relevant experience and why they are the ideal candidate for this position. Join us in helping our clients drive the transition to a sustainable future!
