Job Title: Global Data Protection Executive
This leadership position plays a key role in advancing Marriott's data protection program across the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. The Director will implement and enhance Marriott's data protection framework through policies, procedures, and projects.
2. The executive will oversee records of processing activities and advise on cross-border data transfers, including drafting related agreements.
3. The candidate will identify and assess emerging regulatory risks (e.g., AI, AdTech) and recommend mitigation strategies.
Candidate Profile
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. A legal degree is desirable. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 6 years of professional experience, including 3+ years in Privacy, Legal, and/or Compliance. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or equivalent certification is preferred.

Data Protection Policy Development: Develop and maintain Marriott's data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with global regulations.
Data Security Measures: Implement robust data security measures to safeguard Marriott's data assets, including encryption, access controls, and incident response planning.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure Marriott's data protection practices align with evolving global regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA.
Cross-Border Data Transfers: Manage cross-border data transfers, ensuring compliance with international data transfer requirements.
Incident Response: Develop and execute incident response plans to mitigate the impact of data breaches or other security incidents.
Reporting and Auditing: Conduct regular reporting and auditing to ensure Marriott's data protection practices are effective and compliant.
Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness programs for Marriott employees on data protection best practices.
