The Role The Crate Washer / Hygiene Operative plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our production environments.
The primary responsibility involves the efficient cleaning, sanitization, and maintenance of plastic crates, and other reusable production equipment, ensuring they meet strict food safety and quality standards before reuse.
Your Key Responsibilities Operate and oversee the automated industrial crate washing machinery, including pre-wash, wash, rinse, and drying cycles.
Manually clean and sanitize crates, trays, and equipment as required, especially for items that cannot be processed by the automated system.
Monitor detergent and sanitizer levels in the washing equipment and ensure correct dosage and temperature settings are maintained.
Inspect all washed crates and equipment to ensure they are free from debris, residue, and potential contaminants before being stacked and returned to the production floor.
Report any equipment malfunctions or performance issues to the supervisor immediately.
Assist with general site hygiene duties as directed, which may include cleaning production machinery, floors, walls, and storage areas.
Ensure all hygiene tasks are carried out in accordance with the company's cleaning schedules Correctly handle, dilute, and use various cleaning chemicals and detergents following safety guidelines.
Dispose of waste and recycling materials in line with site procedures.
Maintain flexibility to undertake ad hoc cleaning and hygiene duties in various departments across the site to support overall factory cleanliness.
