Oncology Nursing Day Ward Position
The role of a Staff Nurse in an Oncology Day Ward is to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for patients and their families. This involves working as part of a team of nurses to deliver evidence-based care and develop innovative practices within the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide exceptional clinical care to patients, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Act as a preceptor to preregistration students, mentor new clinical staff, and support colleagues when needed.
• Develop effective communication and interpersonal relationships with the multidisciplinary team to ensure collaborative working practices.
• Identify and discuss nursing/patient needs with consultants/nursing team, multidisciplinary team, patients, and carers.
• Accept responsibility and be accountable for the holistic care of a named group of patients on a shift basis.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Registered General Nurse with The Nursing and Midwifery Bord of Ireland (NMBI)
• At least 1 year's post-registration oncology experience
• Evidence of ongoing CPD
