With a strong reputation for reliability and service, they provide everything from sales and hire to servicing, parts, and support.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Generator Technical Engineer to join a well-established and respected business. You’ll play a key role within the service team, supporting the delivery of on‑site activities, ensuring customer satisfaction, and contributing to the company’s continued success.This is a permanent position, Monday to Friday, with travel across the island of Ireland. A full UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out all aspects of generator servicing, including oil & filter changes, and fuel, oil, and coolant sampling.Perform load bank testing on customer-owned generator units.Accurately fault find and diagnose both mechanical and electrical issues.Work across a wide range of generator and engine brands including Cummins, Perkins, Caterpillar, Volvo, Scania, John Deere, Iveco, and more.Undertake engine repairs (mechanical & electrical), including fuel pumps, starter motors, cooling systems, batteries, chargers, key switches, and more.Interrogate and work with control systems such as DSE, ComAp, and DEIF.Understand and work on changeover systems.Support or lead on mechanical engine rebuilds/top‑end overhauls.Assist with control panel upgrade works/retrofits.Demonstrate a strong balance of both mechanical and electrical skill sets.Person SpecificationProven experience within generator services or the wider power generation industry.Valid CSR card.Strong problem‑solving skills and a positive attitude.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.High attention to detail and accuracy.Willingness to undertake further training for professional development.Brand‑specific generator training courses.Control systems training courses.Relevant electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, 17th/18th edition).What’s on OfferA permanent role with a competitive salary (depending on experience).Opportunity to work on a diverse range of generator brands and systems.Ongoing training and professional development.Be part of a growing team in a leading business within the power generation sector.Seniority levelAssociateEmployment typeFull‑timeJob functionStaffing and Recruiting and Engineering Services
