Senior Project Manager (Joinery / Fit-Out) Experience Required: 1012+ years Package: Highly competitive bespoke package (Vehicle, Fuel Card, Mobile Phone, Accommodation) Overview A market-leading Irish joinery and fit-out contractor in the retail, hospitality, and commercial sectors is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee major nationwide projects. This is a senior-level role for someone who can take ownership of complex, high-value installations from early design engagement right through to handover. The ideal candidate is a seasoned operator with deep experience in bespoke joinery projects, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record delivering premium fit-outs to tight timelines and exceptional standards. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Planning & Pre-Construction Lead full project lifecycle planning across multiple concurrent projects. Review architectural drawings, joinery production drawings, technical details, and scope packages. Produce detailed project programmes, identifying long lead items, critical paths, and resourcing needs. Coordinate with workshop teams, estimators, procurement, and design technicians to ensure all project requirements are feasible and scheduled properly. Attend design coordination meetings with architects, QS teams, contractors, and client reps. Identify potential risks or design clashes early and propose practical solutions. 2. Client & Stakeholder Management Act as the primary point of contact for all client-side communication. Manage expectations, negotiate timelines, and maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Provide regular progress updates, site reports, and cost reviews. Represent the company professionally at meetings, site visits, and handovers. 3. Workshop Coordination Liaise closely with the joinery workshop to ensure accurate fabrication of bespoke elements. Monitor production schedules, making sure all components are manufactured on time. Review production drawings and approve materials, finishes, and fabrication methods. Oversee quality checks before items leave the workshop. 4. On-Site Installation Management Plan and coordinate all installation phases across retail, hospitality, and commercial projects nationwide. Manage installation crews, subcontractors, and specialist trades. Ensure all site work aligns with drawings, design intent, and quality requirements. Oversee site logistics, delivery schedules, access management, and H&S protocols. Resolve technical or structural issues on-site with practical, solutions-focused thinking. Conduct daily walkthroughs to track progress and address obstacles proactively. 5. Budget, Cost & Resource Control Manage project budgets, cost variations, labour projections, and resource allocation. Review subcontractor quotations, material costs, and procurement requirements. Track and approve timesheets, overtime, travel expenses, and on-site labour allocations. Work closely with the QS team to deliver projects on or under budget. 6. Health & Safety Compliance Ensure strict adherence to safety standards for all workers on each project. Prepare RAMS, review site safety files, and conduct toolbox talks when required. Liaise with site safety officers and ensure work conforms to national H&S regulations. 7. Handover & Close-Out Manage snagging lists, quality inspections, and client walkthroughs. Prepare O&M manuals and project completion documentation. Ensure seamless project handover with zero outstanding technical or quality issues. Requirements 1012+ years experience in project management within joinery, fit-out, construction, or furniture manufacturing. Strong understanding of bespoke joinery, workshop processes, and premium commercial installations. Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate detailed construction and joinery drawings. Proven track record managing large-scale or multi-site projects. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Strong English (written and verbal). Full driving licence. Ability to travel nationwide as projects demand.
