Job Purpose:
The role of the Civils Snr Site Manager is to manage all site works, including soil stabilisation, reduced level and foundation excavations, leanmix fill, shoring, surface and waste main drainage, site services including ESB, Telecoms, CCTV, Street lighting, EV ducting, Uisce Eireann water main, substructure services and drainage within each apartment block, hard and soft landscaping including kerbing and paving to cycleways, footpaths, road carriageways, play equipment, bin and cycle stores, etc.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Snr Project Manager.
Work proactively and cooperatively with all members of the Evara project team and other departments within the organisation.
Take full responsibility and leadership of all siteworks related activities, with day-to-day accountability for delivery of works within your remit, while controlling programme, quality, commercial budgets, health, safety and environmental risk, and worker welfare.
Planning, coordinating and organising works, including forward planning and effective management and proactively engaging and communicating with all relevant subcontractors and suppliers.
Supervise and provide guidance, direction and support, while nurturing, respecting and strengthening relationships with our supply chain.
Manage and provide leadership, direction and mentorship to engineers and package managers within your team.
Monitor and report on construction progress, programme and commercial risks.
Understand utility providers and local authority regulations and guidelines for construction and installations to ensure full compliance.
Engage with, update and meet all utility and local authority representatives to ensure effective communication, compliance and timely service connections.
Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure the availability of necessary materials, equipment and resources.
Conduct regular site inspections, addressing any issues or concerns promptly, to maintain project momentum.
Assist the Snr Project Manager in dispute resolution where necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
10 years + of industry management experience, with 6 years + hands on experience in management of large siteworks packages, working in a fast-paced environment.
Qualification in Civil Engineering or Groundworks/ Plant and Machinery operation, with ability to demonstrate a proven track record in management of similar works and scale.
Fully conversant, with experience in the Irish/ UK construction markets obtained with a reputable Main Contractor or Self Delivery Developer.
Good understanding of the full project construction life cycle.
Strong ability to understand technical drawings and specifications to all site works are carried out in line with specifications.
Self-motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic, with a willingness to take direction as required, work collaboratively, while respecting work colleagues and company management.
Intermediate IT skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, AutoCAD.
Knowledge and experience of Asta PowerProject would be preferable but not essential.
Core Competencies of the Role
Proven track record and deep understanding of ESB, Uisce Eireann, and local authority rules and regulations.
Strong ability to understand technical drawings and ensure all site works are carried out in line with specifications.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to guide site engineers, package managers and direct/indirect sub-contractors on-site.
Confidence in managing tasks and ensuring the project stays on schedule.
Ability to prioritise workload / excellent time management / excellent managerial skills.
Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment.
Ability to coordinate on a large-scale development.
