Lead Electrical Design Engineer, Data Centre Engineering – Job ID: 3108213 | Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited. AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access to our customers’ innovation. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing significant capacity at the lowest possible cost. The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon’s scale, speed, ability to build, invent, and simplify a resilient and sustainable company, managing social and environmental impacts globally and driving solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.
Responsibilities
* Producing Design Specifications, marking up and checking design drawings, supporting on-site activities (Technical submittal reviews, answering RFIs, etc.), site inspections, equipment qualifications, presenting designs to stakeholders (page turns).
About the team
The team consists of Electrical Engineers with Design Engineering backgrounds (typically having worked as Consulting Engineers with wide ranging experience), many ex-electricians with a practical knowledge of the systems they are designing.

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
* Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
* Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
* Experience in commissioning
Preferred Qualifications
* Professional Engineer License
* Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
* Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
* Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
