The Role
We’re looking for a motivated IT Support & Systems Administrator to join our team based in Kilrush, Co. Clare.
This role is ideal for someone with 2–4 years’ experience who is looking to move beyond basic support and develop strong skills in Microsoft 365, networking, and modern IT infrastructure.
You’ll work as part of a small team supporting clients both remotely and on‑site across Clare and beyond. This is a hands‑on role with real exposure to cloud systems, networking, and cybersecurity, offering a clear path into advanced systems administration.
We’re looking for someone curious, proactive, and eager to take ownership of their technical development.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 & Cloud (Core Focus)
Administer and support Microsoft 365 environments including:
Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
Manage users, permissions, and identity using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
Configure and manage Microsoft Intune for device deployment, compliance, and security
Implement and maintain security controls including MFA and conditional access
Support ongoing optimisation of client Microsoft 365 environments
Networking & Infrastructure
Manage and support client network environments including:
LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networks
Troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and access issues
Assist with network setup, upgrades, and documentation
Work with firewalls and network security configurations
Systems Administration
Support Windows and macOS environments
Assist in the administration of Windows Server and Active Directory
Perform system updates, patching, and general maintenance
Support backup and recovery processes
Support & Service Delivery
Provide 1st and 2nd line support to end users
Deliver support both remotely and on‑site as required
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
Work within a ticketing/RMM system to manage and resolve issues efficiently
Security & Best Practice
Apply security best practices across endpoints and cloud systems
Support endpoint protection and monitoring tools
Assist in implementing policies aligned with modern cybersecurity standards
Promote security awareness and good IT practices among users
Documentation & Development
Contribute to technical documentation and internal knowledge base
Document client environments and configurations
Work toward relevant certifications as part of your development
Requirements
Essential
2–4 years experience in an IT support or systems role
Experience supporting Windows and macOS environments
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 administration
Understanding of Active Directory and/or Entra IDBasic networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable
Experience with Microsoft Intune or Endpoint Manager
Familiarity with networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)
Experience with RMM or EDR tools
Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash)
Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.)
