Senior Maintenance Technician
This role is centered around the upkeep and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance. The Senior Maintenance Technician will play a pivotal part in maintaining equipment uptime, responding to breakdowns, and supporting other technicians as needed.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a deep understanding of asset management and maintenance procedures. They will be responsible for leading by example, adhering to company policies, and promoting a well-coordinated working environment.
* Support maintenance technicians and apprentices in their daily tasks.
* Liaise with production teams to identify areas for improvement.
* Conduct machine and line improvement projects to enhance efficiency.
* Collaborate with supervisors and managers to monitor machine reliability.
* Assist with commissioning new machinery and training other staff members.
* Evaluate existing preventative maintenance (PM) programs and suggest improvements where necessary.
* Be available for on-call support and attend site if required.
* Support holiday and sickness cover for other shifts when needed.
* Play a key role in planning and executing machine and fabric repairs in advance of visits and audits.
* Participate in PM programs and spare parts projects to optimize resources.
* Maintain health and safety compliance within the work environment.
• Provide production support on shift as required.• Assist team leaders with projects, improvement plans, audit preparation, and maintenance works plans.
• Evaluate existing PMs and set up new ones, ensuring optimal value addition to lines and maintenance time.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team in shutdown works and machine overhauls planning.
• Train and support technicians and operators on existing and new machines.
• Coordinate with engineering stores for machine spare parts stocking.
• Assist engineering stores in evaluating existing spare parts stocks and reducing redundant stock.
• Work with the health and safety team in risk assessments of new and existing machines, and train the maintenance team accordingly.
• Execute health and safety machine/line upgrades and machine compliance according to guarding and safety regulations.
• Participate in lean projects and process improvements.
• Document and train best practice methods for specific tasks on equipment in the plant.
• Record daily tasks on the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
