Purpose
FormFactor is looking for innovative and passionate people who want to lead in today’s mobile revolution. The Sr PCB Design Engineer is a full-time position whose job includes collaborating with engineers and design teams worldwide designing and development of complex, detailed layouts of rigid printed circuit boards using PADS and Cadence applications and tools.
Responsibilities
Perform layout and routing studies that lead to cost reduction, design solutions, improvements in manufacturability and reduced time to market
Understand mechanical requirements (keep in/out’s, mounting/tooling holes, component height restrictions, etc.)
Place and route complex, high speed, multi-layer PKG Substrate and PCB’s including trace length adjustment, GND shielding, verification, etc.
Interface with PKG Substrate/PCB Apps Engineer to setup design constraints and for BGA map optimization
Develop PKG Substrate/PCB layout for best known practices
Create process documentation such as design workflows, procedures, checklists, and training
Understand and apply electrical design concepts such as high speed signals, RF, and power distribution network to meet project requirements
Build and maintain library for general layout guidelines
Define, create and specify design automation tools
Verify new internal design tools and provide feedback to the development team
Develop design processes to reduce design cycle-time and defects and improve product performance
Utilize multiple time zone design teams to meet lead time objectives
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
Diploma holders with at least 5 years of PCB design experience will be considered
5 years of experience in PKG substrate/PCB layout with significant portion involving analog and mixed-signal design
Experience with Cadence PCB, Cadence Allegro Package Design and Allegro and Constraint Manager layout tools
Knowledge of transmission line theory impedance control, skew, crosstalk etc. and high-speed PKG Substrate/PCB design desirable
Good understanding of PKG Substrate/PCB manufacturing process and ability to interface with fabrication houses to improve manufacturability
Working knowledge in net listing, schematics usage, electrical and routing rules creation (constraint manager), signal and power integrity optimization
Good verbal and written communication skills
Possess a highly disciplined approach to problem solving
Detail oriented, consistently meeting committed project deadlines
A strong leader to perform as an individual contributor as well as a project team leader
Experience with AutoCad
Proficient in MS Excel
Fluent in English
