Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science. The Nutrition, Biomarkers and Health Research group are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the group led by Professor Lorraine Brennan. The research team is a multidisciplinary team at the forefront of development of metabolomics for Nutrition and the development of Precision Nutrition approaches. The Postdoctoral project is part of a large collaborative project between UCD, Queens University Belfast and Harvard University. The wider project focuses on the controversies surrounding Ultra Processed Foods. The team will focus on developing an evidence base to further our understanding of the health impact of food processing. To dissect the health impact of diet quality and food processing, we will perform a series of inter-connected projects consisting of randomised trials, development and validation of metabolomic signatures, and prospective cohort studies. This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching. Salary: €46,305 - €46,905 per annum Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 04/11/2025 Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified.
