Role DescriptionThe Investment Banking Analyst plays a key role in supporting deal execution, financial modeling, and market analysis within the investment banking division. This role provides hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a demanding, fast-paced financial environment while delivering high-quality insights and analyses to senior bankers and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive financial analysis, including valuation, discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses.Build and maintain detailed financial models to support transaction structuring, pricing, and strategic recommendations.Prepare pitch books, presentations, and client materials for M&A, IPOs, debt and equity financings, and strategic advisory projects.Perform market, industry, and company research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.Assist in the preparation of marketing documents, offering memorandums, and due diligence materials.Support transaction execution by coordinating with internal teams, clients, and external advisors (legal, accounting, etc.).Analyze financial statements, assess company performance, and identify key value drivers.Monitor capital markets, investor sentiment, and macroeconomic developments relevant to client sectors.Contribute to the preparation of management and board-level presentations for strategic decision-making.Participate in client meetings and calls, providing analytical and research support to senior team members.Maintain databases of financial information, transaction precedents, and valuation benchmarks.Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and presentation quality of analytical deliverables.Collaborate closely with associates and senior bankers on deal-related tasks and client proposals.Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines under high pressure.Uphold confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive client and market information.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.1–3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or financial analysis (internship experience accepted for entry-level).Strong technical skills in financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative analysis.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, Refinitiv).Solid understanding of financial statements, capital markets, and corporate valuation techniques.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.Strong communication and presentation skills with attention to accuracy and detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, high-performance team.Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle competing priorities.High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellence.Fluency in English required; additional language skills (e.g., French, German, Mandarin) are a plus.Willingness to work extended hours when required in a dynamic deal-driven environment.
