Job Title: Maintenance Operations Manager
Maintenance operations managers are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of maintenance activities across a site, optimizing equipment performance and efficiency in line with production demands.
The key responsibilities include:
* Prioritizing and managing maintenance and repair activities to meet production requirements.
* Developing and implementing a spare parts inventory management system to ensure adequate supplies for critical equipment.
* Nominating and supervising subcontractors for work relating to maintenance, ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with their contracts.
* Supervising maintenance personnel, monitoring their performance and quality of workmanship, and addressing any HR issues that may arise.
* Optimizing equipment performance and product quality by following standard procedures and achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Developing a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and leading the team to deliver effectively.
* Managing maintenance material costs and developing strategies to control expenditure.
* Staying up-to-date on changes affecting supply and demand of products and materials needed and advising others of any impact.
* Developing, implementing, and managing KPIs for each area of responsibility.
* Conducting risk assessments of processes and tasks within the department.
* Ensuring that tooling and equipment operate in accordance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to maintain staff and visitor safety.
* Effectively managing technical support personnel to achieve required levels of plant and equipment uptime.
* Managing the maintenance team to complete preventative and predictive maintenance activities on time and efficiently.
* Managing technical files for all plant and equipment, including electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, controls, and software elements.
* Ensuring backup copies of all plant and equipment software, such as PLC programs and robotic programs.
* Developing maintenance personnel to diagnose software issues, including reading PLC ladder logic.
* Ensuring access to software for machine programs and updating when new equipment comes online.
* Managing data related to plant and equipment uptime and generating daily graphs showing performance against targets.
* Cultivating a culture of multi-skilling and cross-training throughout all roles within each maintenance shift.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in a similar role.
