What you can expect in a typical day:
As the Inspection Support Lead, you will apply your knowledge of refinery equipment, processes, potential damage mechanisms and examination techniques to provide technical support to the Inspection execution team and advise on all matters relating to asset integrity onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
Promotes a positive safety culture onsite through active engagement with HSE processes, coaching/mentoring of peers and by keeping informed of industry best practice.
Manages the Inspection Support Team, including developing team competencies through coaching/mentoring and completion of annual performance reviews.
Develops, reviews and updates inspection plans for piping, vessels, towers, drums, fired heaters, tanks, safety relief devices and structures; utilising Risk Based Inspection and Time Based Interval inspection methods; and considering previous inspection findings including developing/maintaining Corrosion Control Documents (CCD's).
Develops, reviews and updates Special Emphasis Inspection Programs based on latest industry best practice and previous inspection findings.
Develops and reviews assessments of identified defects and fired heater remaining life assessments using API 530/API 579 Fitness for Service L1 & L2 methodologies and including development of repair solutions where required.
Develops and reviews inspection condition reports/inspection recommendations and communicates to asset stakeholders.
Ensures inspection plans are in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, codes, standards, practices and procedures.
Investigates opportunities for continuous improvement of inspection management systems/processes though audits and by being informed of updates to industry guidelines and new technologies/techniques; and develops plans for implementation.
Provides regular updates on the status of asset condition, inspection recommendation status and compliance with statutory inspections/Special Emphasis Inspection Programs including developing/maintaining Asset Integrity KPI's.
Supports Process Hazard Assessments (PHA's), design reviews, benchmarking reviews, Reliability Operating Limit (ROL) and Corrosion Monitoring reviews.
Supports capital and maintenance projects, though scope development, execution planning, meetings, QA/QC surveillance/testing activities (including workshop visits); and handover walkdowns.
What you'll need to succeed:
Knowledge of equipment, systems, processes, potential damage mechanisms and examination techniques.
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, codes and standards (e.g., ASME/API).
Ability to accurately determine the condition of assets and communicate findings effectively.
Development and maintenance of effective relationships with key stakeholders.
Self-motivated, proactive and can work well with multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to coordinate and combine resources available to resolve issues; bring together strengths of other team members to effectively solve problems and achieve goals.
Have ownership of matters relating to asset mechanical integrity onsite.

Education and experience
:
API In-service Inspection Qualifications API *********** or equivalent.
10+ years' experience in a refinery environment or similar.
