Assistant Warehouse Manager – Galway

Our client is a long‑established Irish retail group with a strong nationwide presence and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. They are now seeking an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to join their busy warehouse management team based in Galway. This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity within a fast‑paced and growing business.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Oversee the efficient day‑to‑day running of the warehouse and supervise all staff involved in the movement of goods.
* Manage stock control, including inbound, outbound, and internal stock movements.
* Liaise with operations regarding container bookings, barcodes, and container lists.
* Ensure safe and accurate picking and loading of all orders for both store and e‑commerce deliveries.
* Monitor warehouse layout and optimise loading and unloading areas for maximum productivity.
* Provide cover for the Warehouse Manager when required.
* Lead and support drivers for in‑house store deliveries and courier partners for e‑commerce orders.
* Act as a key point of contact for any delivery or picking issues, collaborating with operations and logistics management.
* Oversee preventative maintenance schedules for all warehouse equipment.
* Support team training, performance management, and adherence to safety standards.
The Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar logistics or warehouse supervisory role.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Proven people‑management and communication skills.
* Self‑motivated, adaptable, and capable of working in a busy, fast‑paced environment.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with good reporting experience.
* Retail or e‑commerce experience advantageous.
* Knowledge of data analytics or warehouse management systems desirable.
