R&D Project Manager – Life Sciences / Biopharma
Are you a scientist or academic researcher ready to apply your expertise in a dynamic industry setting? We are seeking an R&D Project Manager to lead innovative pharmaceutical and biotech development projects. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with global partners to help translate research into real-world therapies.
About the Role:
This position bridges the gap between scientific discovery and applied development. You’ll manage early- to late-stage research and development projects, ensuring that experimental design, regulatory milestones, and technical deliverables align with program goals. Ideal for candidates with a strong academic or scientific background looking to make an impact beyond the lab.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate end-to-end R&D project activities, from technical transfer and preclinical work through to process development and final delivery
* Ensure alignment across timelines, resources, and scientific goals, while maintaining compliance with GMP and relevant regulatory frameworks
* Serve as the central liaison between internal teams (research scientists, engineers, QA, regulatory, manufacturing) and external stakeholders
* Translate complex scientific data into actionable project plans and clear communications for clients and collaborators
* Identify potential risks and propose proactive solutions to keep programs on track
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help develop new R&D capabilities and services
What We’re Looking For:
* Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related field
* Proven experience (3+ years) in managing or coordinating R&D or translational research projects within academia, biotech, or pharma
* Familiarity with GMP environments and regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, etc.)
* Strong project management, scientific communication, and team coordination skills
* Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, or similar)
This is a unique opportunity to move from academic or research environments into a strategic leadership role that still values a scientific background. You’ll work with pioneering biotech and pharmaceutical organisations, contribute to cutting-edge therapies, and help shape the future of healthcare innovation.
