Senior Performance Engineer - Permanent Role | Munster area - within (Hybrid: 2 Days Onsite)
A leading organisation is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to join its Performance Engineering team in Waterford. This is a permanent position offering a hybrid working model with two days per week in the office.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise and a passion for performance optimisation. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to high-impact projects, and help ensure applications are fast, reliable, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
Lead performance testing strategies and execution
Design and implement performance testing scripts and tools
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to optimise performance in CI/CD pipelines
Mentor junior engineers and support production performance triage
Validate software releases and hardware upgrades
Required Experience
Extensive experience in Performance Engineering
Proficiency in LoadRunner, NeoLoad, JMeter, Selenium
Experience with APM tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, etc.)
Strong understanding of Java, containerised environments, databases (MSSQL, Oracle, DynamoDB), and front-end technologies
Familiarity with AWS, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, CDD), and synthetic monitoring
Scripting skills in Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, and SQL
Experience with GIT/BitBucket and general IT troubleshooting
Desirable Skills
JavaScript web development
Apache and Java environment configuration
Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, OTEL
Agile methodology experience
