Job Description
The purpose of this job is to serve as a member of the TS/MS Laboratory group within the client environment to support their technical and analytical tasks, working to the highest standards in terms of quality and professionalism.
Job Responsibilities
* Supporting cell culture and downstream purification projects, including set‑up of equipment and material preparation.
* Maintaining laboratory equipment by performing checks (calibrations, reagent replenishment) and coordinating performance maintenance or services.
* Maintaining laboratory stocks regularly to ensure supply is sustained.
* Completing tasks with emphasis on safety and reporting and following up on safety items.
* Bioreactor preparation, media/feed/buffer make‑ups, probe/equipment calibration, and organization.
* Providing core technical support with the preparation of, and maintenance of, day‑to‑day lab equipment.
* Maintaining and updating laboratory equipment maintenance records, electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN), and associated data files.
* Providing assistance for other staff members as required.
* Assisting in laboratories as needed.
* Ensuring all required documentation is completed on time, accurately and legibly.
* Adhering to all company standards in safety, housekeeping and quality, and notifying management of discrepancies.
* Ensuring customers’ requirements are fully met and being flexible to work in any area of the business as required.
Qualifications
* Minimum of a diploma in a relevant scientific discipline (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology) or relevant industry‑based experience; preference depends on qualifications.
* Good planning and organisation skills.
* Familiarity with laboratory‑scale cell culture techniques and equipment (aseptic technique, media make‑up, autoclave running) is a distinct advantage.
* Strong IT skills.
* Good communication skills, both internally and externally.
Additional Information
Shift work is required for this role. Working 08:00 – 18:00 on a biweekly rotating shift pattern: Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Week 2 – Wednesday & Thursday.
