Chemical Operator
About the Position:
We are looking for a skilled Chemical Operator to manage bulk chemical shipments at our dock in Foynes, Limerick, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Loading/transfer of bulk chemical shipments into storage tanks/warehouse at our dock in Foynes.
2. Filling/loading of chemicals into tankers/trucks for transport to parent company in Shannon and/or directly to customers.
3. Maintaining and operating track machinery, including loading shovels and other equipment as required.
4. Use of pumps, valves, compressors, batch controllers, etc. for liquid transfer operations.
5. Stock taking, recording data, transferring data/information to parent site in Shannon.
6. Communication with ships, hauliers and parent company regarding logistics and delivery schedules.
7. Direct involvement with offloading material through shipping partners, which may occasionally require working unsociable hours.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* A minimum of a Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
* Proven experience as a General Operator with knowledge of handling corrosive chemicals.
* Possession of a valid Forklift License.
* Experience with operating various types of machinery would be an advantage (e.g., Teleporter/MEWP/Shunter).
* Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets for chemicals and requirements for transporting hazardous loads by road.
* Manual handling training and practical experience in manual operations.
* Proficiency in using software packages such as Word and Excel.
Work Schedule:
The standard work week is 39 hours, Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30. Once training is complete, shifts will extend until 20:00 (19:00 on Fridays).
Pay Rate:
€15.52 per hour.
